Vickie van Dyke: Guelph, Ontario, Canada; I am a radio host (www.WAVE 947.FM - Canada), jazz singer, songwriter, mother, lover, friend, daughter, sister, wannabe comedienne, writer, ex-wife, ex-girlfriend, dancer, sailer, life coach (I took a course!), cook and CHEATER! Sometimes I combine a few of the above, just in case the gods haven't had a good enough guffaw ... So one day, one of my fabulous friends says "You should write a book about the way you cook, cause you make it look so easy." And I reply in my patented uber-intelligent fashion "It IS easy ... just like me." So here it is. Cooking made easy, the cheater's way. Inspired by my life made difficult, the Vickie way. Cause really, what's the point of knowing how I cook (which is truly so simple my dog Shiloh is close to perfecting it) if you don't understand HOW I got to this place of culinary chicanery? It's only been in the past seven years and as usual, it's all about BOYS, isn't it .......
